Planning to change your insurance?
Do you want to expand the cover of your additional (dental) insurance? Or make your voluntary excess higher? Usually the change will only be implemented on 1 January of the following year. You can also change your insurance during the year in the following situations:

| When your child turns 9
||Dental insurance of the child. Children who are registered at
the age of 9 are entitled to orthodontics treatment after one
year (when they are 10). The insurance is free up to the age of 10.
| When your child turns 10
|Dental insurance of the child. Children who are registered at
the age of 9 are entitled to orthodontics treatment after one year
(when they are 10). The insurance is free up to the age of 10.
| When your child turns 18
|Type of Basic Health Insurance, additional insurance, dental
insurance and voluntary excess. You can also only apply for a
personal healthcare policy.
Note: pass on the change in the month that follows the month when it has been your child's birthday at the latest. The change will come into effect on the 1st day of the month that follows the month in which your child had a birthday.
How do I pass on changes?
- Online through My Menzis. (In Dutch)
- In writing by using the reply form that we send when you/your child turns 9, 10 or 18.
Important to be aware of:
- If a change does not apply to all family members, specify the insured person or persons who are affected by the change clearly.
- Always provide the insured person's number and (if applicable) the group insurance scheme number with regard to a change.
