Extra benefits and good health insurance

The group discount on the Basic Insurance came to an end on 1 January 2023. There is, however, a discount on the additional (dental) insurances with Menzis Basis and Menzis Basis Vrij (the additional insurance Buitenland en Tandongeval is not included).

Group health insurance is insurance for a large group of people. An employer can take out group health insurance for its employees or a sports association can take out insurance for the members of a sports club, for example. Many patient organisations for people with chronic illnesses have also taken out group health insurance with insurers. As part of a group, you receive a discount on the premium for additional (dental) insurances (the additional insurance Buitenland en Tandongeval is not included). You can switch over to a Menzis group health insurance policy through your employer every year. The insurance will take effect from 1 January of the following year.
It is possible to switch during the year in the following situations:

• You have recently started work with your employer and already have group insurance elsewhere. You can switch over immediately to your employer’s group scheme with Menzis.
• You are already insured with Menzis, but not under a group insurance policy. You can switch over immediately to your employer’s group scheme with Menzis.

The new premium for the following year will be known by 12 November at the latest and you will then be able to switch over to your employer’s group health insurance with Menzis. Your new health insurance will come into effect on 1 January.

The discount on the additional (dental) insurances also applies to your co-insured family members. Most of the benefits on this page apply to any co-insured family members too. 

The extra reimbursements (on top of the additional insurances) that are available through your employer only apply to you as an employee. You can read about this in the descriptions of the reimbursements.
