A good health insurance in 2026.

The group discount on the Basic Insurance came to an end on 1 January 2023. There is, however, a discount on the additional (dental) insurances with Menzis Basis and Menzis Basis Vrij.

Group health insurance is insurance for a large group of people. An employer can take out group health insurance for its employees or a sports association can take out insurance for the members of a sports club, for example. Many patient organisations for people with chronic illnesses have also taken out group health insurance with insurers. As part of a group, you receive a discount on the premium for additional (dental) insurances. With Menzis you can also take advantage of additional benefits. These extras are listed on this page.

The discount on the additional (dental) insurances also applies to your co-insured family members. Most of the benefits on this page apply to any co-insured family members too.

The extra reimbursements (on top of the additional insurances) that are available through your employer only apply to you as an employee. You can read about this in the descriptions of the reimbursements.

There is no waiting period for orthodontics under Collectief Tand750 if the child also had additional insurance with the previous health insurer and this offered the same (or almost the same) reimbursement as Collectief Tand750. A waiting period of 1 year always applies in the case of Collectief Tand1000.

There is no waiting period for orthodontics, crowns, bridges and implants under Collectief Tand750 or Collectief Tand1000 if the adult also had additional insurance with the previous health insurer and this offered the same (or almost the same) reimbursement as Collectief Tand750 or Collectief Tand1000.

Emergency care is always reimbursed in the Netherlands. In this case it does not matter which hospital a patient is taken to by the ambulance. Even if the healthcare insurer does not have a contract with this hospital, the patient is insured against this care.
